How to Choose Packers and Movers in Pakistan

Questions to ask, papers to request, and red flags to notice before you book a move.

A moving crew loading labelled cartons into a truck outside a house

How to choose packers and movers in Pakistan is a comparison of the job description, not a comparison of slogans. The crew that will pack your house or office should be able to say what is included, what the truck can reach, and what happens if something is damaged. A company that cannot answer those points before the deposit is asking you to discover them on moving day.

This applies to a shift inside Lahore, a twin-city move between Rawalpindi and Islamabad, and an intercity load. An overseas household is a larger version of the same questions, plus the documents in the shipping-household-goods guide.

Questions to ask movers before you compare prices

Ask who packs. If you pack, the quote should not include a packing charge. If they pack, ask whether glass and electronics are included or billed as extra. Professional packing should be a line you can see.

Ask about access. Which floor, is there a lift, and will the society allow the truck at that hour? A quote that ignores the building is a quote for a different move.

Ask what is dismantled and reassembled. Beds and simple tables are ordinary. Fitted kitchens and wall units are not. House shifting and office relocation both fail when “furniture” was taken to include fixed joinery.

Ask whether the price is for one truck and a stated crew, and what a second trip costs. Ask if storage is available if the new place is not ready, and at what notice. Ask how a damage note is written on the day, and how long you have to report a problem after delivery.

Papers worth requesting

Ask for a written quote with the addresses, the date, and the list of included tasks. Ask for a contact number that works on the day, not only a sales number. If the company mentions insurance, ask what it covers and what it excludes, in writing. Do not treat the word “insured” as a policy.

If they claim a licence, a membership, or a partnership, ask to see it. This site does not list badges of its own for that reason. You should be just as direct with anyone else. Hiring a house shifting company on the strength of a logo you cannot verify is how those logos spread.

A city name on a website means they offer collection there. It does not, by itself, mean a staffed branch. Mover red flags Pakistan clients can check in an afternoon include a refusal to put the quote in writing, a demand for the full amount before any visit or video survey, and a price that is far below every other quote for the same floors and the same city pair.

How to compare packers and movers fairly

Line the quotes up on the same items: packing or not, floors, dismantling, the date, and the distance. Compare packers and movers only after those boxes match. Then look at how specific the answers were. A company that asked about the lift and the fragile pieces is doing the job. A company that sent a price from the number of bedrooms alone is guessing.

Visit or video-call if you can. You are looking for whether they describe the work the same way twice. Inconsistency about what is included is more useful than a polished page.

Read the house shifting checklist before they arrive, whoever you appoint. The checklist is your half of the job: sorting, labelling, and keeping valuables out of the cartons. A careful crew cannot compensate for a house that was not ready, and a ready house cannot compensate for a crew that never agreed what “ready” meant.

After you choose

Confirm the arrival window the day before. Share the gate rules in writing. On the day, walk the supervisor through what is not moving. Count cartons if you numbered them. Note damage before the crew leaves the new address. These steps are the same whether the move is across a sector or across a province. They are how a careful booking stays a careful move.

An office is the same test, with a clock

Hiring movers for an office adds the hour the business can stop. Ask whether the quote includes after-hours loading, and whether the building security will allow it. Ask how desks and files will be labelled so Monday morning is not a search. A house can be unpacked over a weekend. An office that cannot find its files on the first working day has a different kind of cost.

Compare an office quote on desk count, meeting rooms, and the server cupboard, not on a guess from the floor area. If one company surveyed the site and another priced from a phone call, you do not yet have two quotes for the same move. Pay for the survey, or walk them through photos of every room, before you treat the figures as comparable.

Questions about hiring movers

Only after the quotes describe the same job. A low figure that excludes packing, the upper floor, or the intercity distance is not the lowest once those items are added.

Ask for the address and check it. A city page or a phone number is not a branch. Collection from your city is not the same thing as a staffed office there.

Yes. The quote should say who packs, which floors, what is dismantled, and whether storage or an extra stop is included. A verbal "everything" is hard to rely on later.
