When luggage should travel as cargo
Excess baggage from Pakistan is luggage that no longer fits the free allowance on a passenger ticket. Families, students and returning travellers often move sealed bags or cartons as air cargo instead of paying airline excess on every piece.
The job is still air freight: weight, size, screening and papers matter. Soft suitcases may need cartons so they survive the warehouse. A contents list is not optional. Batteries, liquids and food should be flagged before pickup, because an airline can refuse an undeclared piece after the truck has already left.
If you only have one small bag on the same flight, airline excess can be simpler. If you have several pieces, or the luggage can leave on a different day, a cargo booking is usually the cleaner path. We quote once we know the piece count, the weight and the destination city.
What an excess baggage booking covers
Collection in Pakistan
We collect sealed bags or cartons from the address you name, subject to vehicle access.
Packing check
Soft bags may need cartons or wrap so they survive screening and transfer. We say what is needed before pickup.
Air cargo booking
Excess baggage usually flies. The quote names the chargeable weight and the airport pair we can use.
Export papers
A contents list and declared value travel with the shipment. Commercial invoices apply only when the goods are for sale.
Air waybill reference
You receive the airway bill number once the airline accepts the cargo.
Destination release or delivery
Release at the arrival airport, or a road delivery if that is on the quote.
Status updates
We tell you when the cargo is tendered and when destination release is confirmed.
How excess baggage is shipped
List the bags and the deadline
Piece count, approximate weight, and the date you need the luggage. Photos of packed bags help when sizes look odd.
Confirm air scope
Most excess baggage moves by air. Door delivery after arrival is optional and priced separately.
Seal and label
Bags are sealed and labelled before they leave the house. Loose zippers and open cartons are a screening risk.
Airport tender
After export handling, the luggage is handed to the airline against the airway bill.
Arrival
The receiver clears and collects at the airport, or we arrange delivery when that line is on the quote.
Excess baggage cargo or pay the airline
Paying the airline for excess pieces on the same ticket can be simpler for one or two bags on the same flight. Shipping as cargo suits more pieces, awkward sizes, or luggage that leaves on a different day than the passenger.
Unaccompanied baggage still needs a contents list and a value. Restricted items (batteries, liquids, food) must be declared before pickup.
| Option | Fits when | Tradeoff |
|---|---|---|
| Airline excess | One or two bags travelling with you on the same ticket. | Per-piece airline fees can rise quickly as weight grows. |
| Cargo booking | Several bags, cartons, or luggage that can leave on a different day. | Needs a contents list, screening, and a receiver at destination. |
What we need before pickup
Student luggage and returning-traveller bags fail most often on incomplete lists and undeclared batteries. Send these early.
Piece list
How many bags or cartons, and rough weight per piece.
Contents summary
Clothes, books, kitchen items, and anything valuable. Flag batteries and liquids.
Passenger vs cargo timing
Whether you travel on the same day or the luggage can leave earlier or later.
Receiver details
Name, phone and address or airport preference at destination.
What changes an excess baggage quote
We do not invent a flat bag price. These details move the number.
- Chargeable weight. Airlines bill the higher of scale weight and volumetric weight.
- Piece count and size. Oversized bags need different handling than a standard suitcase.
- Door pickup and delivery. Collection in Pakistan and a truck at destination are separate lines if you ask for them.
- Packing materials. Cartons and wrap for soft bags add cost when the luggage is not already cargo-ready.
- Destination charges. Airport release fees and duties, if any, follow the quote and local rules.
